Fundraising ideas
Here are a few ideas to make your fundraising easy, fun and effective.
Fundraisers
- Fancy dress party
- Bag Packing in local store.
- Bake off challenge
- Set up a Sponge Car wash
- Sponsored cycle, run, walk or swim
- Sponsored Haircut or beard trim
- Tea/Coffee morning or Bake off
- Dance workshop –
- Tutoring or Music sessions
- Treasure hunt
- Get sponsored to do the chores for a week.
- Bag packing in local store
- Sponsor a haircut or beard removal
- Makeup class/ nail painting
- Enter a Car boot sale
- Sell unwanted items online.
- Join an existing race (not another charity) – get sponsorship.
- Hold a static bike challenge and get sponsored to ‘cycle’ the distance to Paris
- If you are part of a team, challenge another team to rugby, netball, swimming
- Spring: Easter egg hunt
- Summer party – BBQ or meal- invite friends round
- Autumn: Bonfire party – you can sell hotdogs, jacket potatoes, wholesome soups.
- Winter: 12 days of Christmas – do 12 charitable acts. How about good old-fashioned carol singing? More fundraisers
- Quiz night:
- Dance-a-thon: get sponsored to dance until you drop or hold a salsa/samba/breakdance workshop and sell tickets.
- Organise a ceili or music session
- Tea/Coffee morning
- Bingo
- Open mike night or Karoke
- Disco
- organise a zumba or keep fit session
- Fete: you could organise your own bake off - best cake and buns produced
- Planning your event
- Check to see what else is happening. You don’t want to clash with something important locally or nationally.
- Book the event as early as you can. These things always take longer to organise than you expect.
- Promote your event and ask your Facebook friends and Twitter followers to help by sharing the event. on your local giving page
